The former Timmerfabriek along the Boschstraat in Maastricht will become the central meeting place and turning point of the ArtTour. This historical building will play in the near future an important role as cultural factory 'The Bassin' in the new quarter Belvedere.
During the ArtTour 2008 the Timmerfabriek will house a central exposition, an information stand and a gastronomic cafÈ. It will also be the starting point of the busses and (maybe) the boat that will take the public to the several locations, like Cultural Free Haven Landbouwbelang and the AINSI (the new cultural factory outside Maastricht on the borders of the river Maas near ENCI).
Also in the Timmerfabriek: ArtTourradio and the Second Life presentation of the project 'VirtuMosa by Eyes’ form Roel Aerts&Co.
The opening event ArtTourNight will also take place in Timmerfabriek on 23rd of May form 20.00 till 02.00. And on Sunday there is an After party.
